You can see exactly when a role opened
Most job sites show you when they found a posting. We show you when the employer actually published it.
Open almost any job aggregator and you will see something like 3 days ago. That date is usually when the aggregator noticed the posting, not when the employer published it. A role that has been live for two months can look like it appeared this morning.

Why the date matters more than it looks
Application timing is one of the few things you control. A role posted three days ago has a shortlist that is still open. The same role at week seven is often already at interview stage, and your application lands in a pile someone has stopped reading.

When we do not know
A few recruiting systems do not publish a date at all. We would rather say nothing than invent one, so those roles simply show no date. If you see a date on Expado, it came from the employer.
What to do with it
- Apply to the newest matches first, on the day you see them.
- Treat anything older than about six weeks as a long shot worth a shorter cover letter.
- If an old role keeps reappearing, that is often a sign the team is struggling to fill it, which can work in your favour if you are close on the requirements.
