About Expado

Why I built it

I moved to Germany at the end of June 2026, and like everyone who arrives here, I went straight into the job search. It is a painful process, and one thing made it harder than it needed to be: job boards do not show you all the jobs.

A lot of German employers publish their openings on their own career pages, and some of those roles never reach LinkedIn or the big job boards. That leaves you with two options: check hundreds of career pages yourself, every day, or miss roles you never knew existed. Neither seemed practical to me.

So I built Expado, and put the first version live in June 2026.

What it does

• Every night it checks the career pages of more than 980 German employers, from scaleups and software companies to hospitals, universities and the Mittelstand. Right now that is over 17,000 open roles.
• Every role is labelled by the German it actually asks for, and by whether it mentions visa sponsorship, so you can rule out what would reject you at the first call.
• You upload your CV once, and Expado ranks every role by how well it fits you, and explains why.
• It is free to use.

People are already finding jobs with it

Friends and early users have found jobs through Expado. One of them sent me this after starting a new role:

“It put an end to my long-standing unemployment.”

Honestly, that means more to me than any number of sign-ups.
